Nova Scotia - Frequently Asked Questions
What is this program?
Provinces in Canada, are like states in
America, and are allowed to have their own provincial immigration programs as
long as they do not conflict with the Federal Immigration Programs.
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program is designed to allow individuals who fit the
specific needs of the province of Nova Scotia, to have access to facilitated
entry into the country via the Provincial Nominee Program.
Yada, yada, yada... What is it really all about?
The NSNP program is all about
speed. If you are tired of waiting and want to immigrate to Canada in
under a year instead of many years it takes under the skilled worker
category, then this program is ideal.
Do I have to live in Nova Scotia?
This program is designed
primarily for those who wish to live and work in Nova Scotia. By law
however, you are free to move about the country as you wish after you land
in Canada. Keep in mind however that you will be missing out on the CAD
$20,000 (GBP 9,500) job placement if you do choose to move to another
province.
What's all this about $20,000 then?
Well when you
land in Nova Scotia, you will be given a selection of companies to choose
from, in a variety of industries. Once you pick a company from the
list that you like, they will offer you a guaranteed position in middle
management in their company for 6 months and pay you a guaranteed CAD
$20,000 over the 6 month period.
How much does this program cost?
The cost of this program is one
of the lowest offered when compared to the other options you have under the
business class. After the interview stage you will be required to make a one
time contribution of CAD $128,800 (GBP 54,000). If for any reason
you are not issued a visa, then the entire amount will be refunded to you.
If however, (and this is very likely given we screen your application first)
you and your family are issued permanent resident visas this contribution
becomes non-refundable. Please remember that you will be receiving CAD
$20,000 after you land in Canada through the guaranteed job offer. So in
effect you are only paying CAD $108,800.
Are there any other fees?
There are always
government processing fees that must be paid as well, no matter what program
you apply under, and in comparison they do not amount to much. At the
start of the process you will have to pay a CAD $1700 application fee.
When you are issued a selection certificate and when we apply for you
federally, you will have to pay CAD$550 per adult and CAD$150 per dependant
child. Finally when your visa's are issued you will have to pay a
processing fee of CAD $975 per adult.
As an example for a family of two adults and four children, the total
government processing fees would be: $1700 + $550x2 +$150x4 + $975x2 = CAD
$5350.00 (GBP 2,350)
And you work for free then? No. But I'm sure you were being
sarcastic (at least I hope you were). Because each case is unique, we
cannot quote one fee here that would work for all applicants. Our fees
are determined based on the complexity of your case and any other additional
services you may or may not require. If this program sounds interesting to
you, please fill out the NSNP free assessment and
we will get in touch with you. |
