Canada – A peaceful safe haven.
The term post-911 has been used in so many articles since that date
that one tends to wonder if is has been given too much weight. Has the
world fundamentally changed since that fateful day? The answer depends
very much upon who you ask. Regardless, it is quite evident that with all
the turmoil observed in the world at large, one cannot help but look for a
country that can offer them security and permanency. As a single person
the need for security on a global level may not be a pressing or urgent
issue, however if you are planning on raising a family or currently have a
children it is a factor that becomes very important to consider over the
next decade or two.
The Middle East is in a constant state of turmoil with Iraq in a mess
(and some say on the brink of a civil war) and Pakistan rife with civil
unrest over their President’s cooperation with the United States.
Iran is still discussing the implementation of a civil nuclear program
with suspicions cast on its eventual goal by the US and other countries.
Even outside the middle east, terrorist attacks have hit countries that
would never have expected one pre-9/11, however Canada has never been one
of them, nor has it been threatened with attacks.
Canada is one of the few counties in the world that has
multiculturism written into its constitution.
There
are people from over 70 different nations all living together in peace and
harmony in Canada. In one of the largest cities in Canada, Toronto,
over 50% of the city's populace was not born in Canada.
I myself walked down a street in Toronto where I saw a Church, a
Mosque, a Hindu Temple and a Synagogue on the same street. Here in
Vancouver I nearly purchased a house that had a Methodist Church on one
side and an Ismaili Jamatkhana behind it only meters away.
Countries directly affected by terrorism in of the year 2000

If you’re looking for a first world country with a very high quality of
life index, vast natural resources and a stable and peaceful government
then there are few alternatives to Canada. There have been no terrorist
attacks on Canadian soil in the past decade and Canada has never been
singled out as a terrorist target in recent years. Secondly the last war
that Canada fought on its own soil was the war of 1812-1814 against
America. It has since deployed troops in overseas conflicts only in a
peacekeeping role.
Crime is low in almost all cities across Canada. Anecdotal evidence can
be seen in Michael Moore’s documentary “Bowling for Columbine” where he
shows that most Canadians leave their front doors unlocked. That’s not
because they expect you to just walk right in of course. As a rule
Canadians are a very polite group of people but at the same time they know
how to stand up for themselves when they need to. When you have the
choice of raising your family in any country in the world, why not choose
a G8 nation with no terrorist threats, low crime rates, schools that
children do not bring guns or weapons to, and streets free of guns (except
on police).
Protect your family and their future generations. Choose Canada.
Canada – The Pathway to affordable
and Priority Health Care.
Are
you’re thinking about moving to Canada? If so, it must be comforting to
know that the Canadian health care system is among the best in the world!
Canadians value their health care system above any other social
program. All Canadians deserve the highest quality of life possible, and
that’s exactly what they get! Every province aims at delivering high
quality, accessible health services to people in need and the Federal
government is making important changes to build a more sustainable health
care system that puts patients first.
So you must be wondering what makes Canada’s Health Care system so
amazing?
Well the Canada Health Act affords every Canadian the opportunity for free
and universal access to insured health care. Public health-care insurance
in Canada has stressed the principle of transferring resources from the
richer to the poorer and pooling the risks between the healthy and the
less healthy.
Canadian Health care is delivered to a significant portion of the
population, sparsely distributed across a landmass of 10 million square
kilometers, in areas of extreme climatic conditions. All of these
challenges have resulted in the development of technologies that aim to
significantly mitigate or eliminate these challenges.
Health Canada administers the Canada Health Act and monitors the extent to
which health care delivery in the provinces and territories complies with
the Act's criteria and provisions; it approves the payment of the Canada
Health and Social Transfer based on that assessment. This ensures that
you, as a Canadian, get the premium Health Care you desire.
In
British Columbia, for instance, the government is committed to improving
patients’ access to diagnostics and treatment by investing in the very
latest medical technology to ensure British Columbians receive
high-quality care close to where they live.
When I visited my family doctor recently at a local clinic, I had to wait
no more than 15 minutes to see a doctor. In addition, the Canadian
government subsidizes prescription drugs and designated medical supplies.
In fact the difference in drug cost is so significant, that bus loads of
Americans cross the border every year to buy steeply discounted
pharmaceutical drugs in Canada.
Come on over to Canada and enjoy the long and healthy lifestyle you
deserve!
The “E” Factor
If you could
give your child just one precious gift to prepare him for the challenges
that lie ahead, what would it be? Yes, what better gift indeed, than the
gift of a bright future through education, and what better country to
educate your children in than Canada? Canadians rank among the
best-educated people in the world
Doesn’t your child deserve to be Canadian?
It’s good to know that the educational system in Canada focuses on two
main goals: to give individuals the opportunity to develop themselves
academically, and to present society with the competence it needs to
advance in its best interests.
Extensive, diversified, and available to everyone, the system reflects the
Canadian belief in the importance of education. This belief is reflected
in a significant financial obligation: Canada ranks among the world's
leaders in per capita spending on public education. Canada maintains this
level of investment because it continues to generate healthy returns.
Almost everywhere, the quality of education is directly related to the
quality of life. In Canada, the high educational level has proven to be a
powerful contributor to the country's highly favorable standard of living,
its growth of opportunity, and its reputation as a place where
intellectual accomplishment is gainfully pursued.
Canada is a country known for its astonishing physical beauty. It
possesses rich and diverse cultural heritage. We Canadians, place a high
value on our natural environment. Upon making Canada your new home, your
child will be able to begin their educational career in one of the most
beautiful, natural environments in the world!
Canada is also a country of diverse geography, and there is much to
experience in its great outdoors: from the thriving coastline, the
imposing Rocky Mountains, the big skies of the prairies, to the 'maple
sugar country' in the Great Lakes and rugged hills.
So, what else will you have to look forward to? Well, Canada is a
bilingual country with two official languages, English and French. So get
ready to parlez français!
Internationally, it is estimated that some 800 million people speak
English and 250 million speak French. Your child will have the opportunity
to study exclusively in these two widely known languages.
Out of 174 countries
worldwide, Canada was ranked (for nine consecutive years) by the United
Nations to be among the top 3 countries in the world in which to live and
study!
To top that, the Human Development Index survey consistently ranked Canada
number one for a variety of reasons including its excellent education
systems, high quality health care, low incidence of crime and clean
environment.
Top 5 Reasons for Studying in Canada
1) Canada is the Best
In 1992, the
United Nations ranked Canada as the best place in the world to live. This
assessment was based upon Canada's achievements in terms of educational
attainment, life expectancy, national income and general quality of life.
The appraisal took account of Canada's abundance of fresh water,
comfortable population density, low incidence of violent crime and a
health care system that is a model for the world.
2) Canada's Excellent Education System
Canada boasts a wide range of quality educational institutions.
Canadian degrees and diplomas are recognized worldwide. Moreover, because
Canadian education is highly subsidized by governments, Canadian tuition
fees are among the lowest in English-speaking countries.
Canada's contributions to science and other fields of research are well
known. Our Nobel Prize winners for science include Dr John Polanyi and Dr
Gerhard Herzberg. The achievements of Drs Banting and Best, the
discoverers of insulin, and of Dr Norman Bethune are in part due to
Canada's excellent academic research facilities.
3) Canada is a Leader in Language Training
For over a
century, Canada's two official languages have been taught as second
languages. As a multicultural society receiving new immigrants who speak
various languages, Canada has become a world leader in language training,
especially in the area of English and French for Academic and Special
Vocational Purposes.
Most educational institutions offer beginners an upgrading programs in
English and/or French (known as English or French as a Second Language).
Sometimes the language courses are offered before you begin your regular
academic program, and sometimes they can be taken at the same time.
4) Canada is Multicultural
Canada is a multicultural society with two official languages (English
and French). Rather than a melting pot, Canada is a cultural mosaic where
the customs and traditions of many cultures are recognized and respected.
5) Canada is Peaceful and Clean
Canada is a peaceful, politically stable and safe country to live in.
Its cities are remarkably clean. Canadians are environmentally conscious
and are constantly making efforts to ensure excellent air and water
quality.
Canada: An Urban Playground
Why move to Canada?
Out
of all of the industrialized nations in the world, Canada is one of the
few that still has a low population density, low pollution rates and a
vast abundance of natural resources relative to the size of its
population.
If you look to other developed countries such as the United Kingdom and
the United States the images stereotypically conjured up are ones of
congestion and pollution in cities, extremely dense urban sprawl, high
crime rates in the cities with the highest populations as well as a
dwindling supply of non-renewable resources to meet energy, food and water
demands.
Not only is Canada a largely untouched and unblemished nation, but it is
also the largest freshwater source in the world. There is enough timber,
crude oil, freshwater and farmlands in Canada to supply all of its people
as well as resources to supply its trading partners with.
With the second largest landmass of any country, behind only Russia,
Canada has a population of only 30 million people. This is approximately
the population of the State of California or only half the population of a
country 1/40th its size; The United Kingdom.

In addition to its abundant natural resources, Canada is also home to
urban areas with no shortage of outdoor activities. In a city like
Vancouver on the West Coast of Canada for example, there is a 1000 acre
park where the ocean
meets
the land touching the downtown core. From downtown Vancouver, one can go
sailing, fishing, play a round of golf and go skiing in some of the best
resorts in the world in only 15 to 20 minutes. For world class skiing you
can head over to the city that will play host to the 2010 Winter Olympics,
Whistler. You only need to drive an hour an a half on the magnificently
beautiful “Sea to Sky” highway which winds its way north of Vancouver
between the mountains and the oceans to reach this world class ski-resort.
Golf
courses are abundant all over the city with some of the better
neighbourhoods located between downtown and the mountains to the North
having 2 golf courses, a driving range, and a ski hill all within a 5
minute drive from home. There are kilometers of biking and hiking trails
within minutes of the city, and campgrounds located a short (or long)
drive away. In short if you’re an active professional urbanite who would
love the flexibility of being able to walk out of your 50th floor ocean
view downtown office and arrive at the golf course, marina or ski-hill
only minutes later, then Vancouver is the city for you.
As a highly technologically developed nation with a low population density
Canada is still one of the few counties in the world where you can enjoy
all the amenities other world class international cities have to offer
while still living right in the middle of a natural playground unequalled
by any other. Come play with us in Canada!
